THE ROLE

This position will be a critical partner to the Founder and CEO and act as conduit for her voice and vision to execute on our growth strategies in our core B2B business and in our newly arising B2C businesses.

The Creative Director will explore and conceptualize design options and solutions that maintain the vision of all Anisa Brand entities (AI, Anisa Brand and ATK) and that provide extensions of our core values: Trusted Collaboration, Passionate Innovation, Unwavering Excellence, and Purposeful Artistry.  This position will work in conjunction with Founder and CEO on design strategy and creative briefs and develop straightforward approaches for execution of these elements throughout the organization and into all customer and consumer touchpoints.

Direct reports include the Graphic Design Manager.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy:

  • In conjunction with Founder and CEO, establish the creative and visual direction for solutions associated with Anisa Brand entities
  • Drive and manage the creative direction of integrated marketing / sales collateral and marketing campaigns that are consistent with our company goals and that support our different sales channels
  • Ensure that brand goals, user insights, industry trends and best practices are leveraged, interpreted and infused in all integrated creative campaign components
  • Ability to tell a visual/creative story that supports companywide strategic initiatives in a way that helps to grow the overall business
  • Set and maintain design parameters and stylistic guidelines consistent without brand
  • Act as a true creative partner to Founder & CEO – consistently providing inspiration and relevance of creative based on industry trends and best practices – particularly as it relates to social and marketing campaigns of both aspirational brands and those of our existing customers and competitors

Production:

  • Oversee and approve all designs, artwork, photography and graphics developed by design and creative team members to ensure alignment with creative direction
  • Ensure quality creative content is delivered accurately, on time and on budget
  • Responsible for driving the look, feel and creative direction of the website and working with the team to ensure that internal and external partners execute this vision
  • Create and direct the execution of all visual campaigns (product, branding, web based, PR, D2C) to ensure efficient processes, consistency of image, experience, overall branding and cross channel integration are in place
  • Maintain knowledge of creative marketing trends and best practices, both on a macro level and also industry specific
  • Research, recommend and manage all outside creative resources and partners

Team Leadership:

  • Foster a creative environment that is conducive to creative development
  • Accountable for developing and directing creative work with the creative team
  • Manage growth of team members through employee performance evaluations, coaching and counseling
  • Attract, lead, manage and mentor creative team employees in such a way to ensure retention, development and superior performance of the team

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7-10 years proven experience in Creative Director role
  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing/art/design or related field required; advanced degree in art/design a strong plus
  • Strong portfolio that demonstrates execution of creative concept work
  • Strong affinity for beauty and/or fashion; Beauty/Fashion industry experience a plus
  • Prior marketing/ad agency experience a plus
  • Experience in print production a plus
  • Demonstrated understanding of cohesive brand messaging
  • Demonstrated understanding of multi-channel branding, graphic design, photography direction and execution
  • Demonstrated conceptual problem solver who can work collaboratively
  • Strong ability to incorporate customer research and business strategy into creative solutions
  • Experience performing and/or managing a range of creative positions such as graphic designer, tech design and art director
  • Expert with various design software, including Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, etc. and an understanding of CSS and HTML
  • Proven ability to develop innovative and effective initial designs, to refine those designs based on feedback and direction, and to remain committed through to the final delivery of each project
  • Ability to produce consistent results in a fast-paced, evolving environment with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Desire to stay informed and knowledgeable about the latest in visual branding, design and technology
  • Established managerial skills that motivate team members and support the company values and standards
